Roger Federer at 35 has a rookie-like excitement as he prepares for 2017 after a long injury layoff. The 17-time Grand Slam champ, now ranked 16, will participate in the Hopman Cup in January before heading to the Australian Open.
On Thursday, he broadcasted to his 6.27 million Twitter followers one of his practice sessions live on Periscope, the social media website’s streaming app. He practiced with French World No. 15 Lucas Pouille in Dubai.
"Can't wait for the season to start. It's a week... 10 days away," he says in the video.
