Sportstar is a lovely magazine and during our playing days, it was the need of the hour.

We needed a magazine that celebrated cricket and sport in general and Sportstar did that very well. It was a weekly then and it covered not just cricket but all other sport be it in India or rest of the world.

I have always looked forward to the magazine and now it is a fortnightly and has grown in strength with wider coverage. I will never forget the fact that when I retired from first-class cricket in the late 1980s, Sportstar did a Cover on me. It had a picture of me in colour, raising my bat and there was a good feature on me.

All sportsmen have to say the final goodbye and I was no exception but what Sportstar did for me back then is something I will never forget for the rest of my life.
