'A magazine you can rely on'

Track and field athlete P.T. Usha picked up four golds at the1986 Asian Games in Seoul.   -  THE HINDU PHOTO ARCHIVES

Whenever you read The Hindu, you know that it is a paper you can rely on. Whenever I want to confirm a result, I would look at The Hindu because I know the paper will never get it wrong.”

Coming from The Hindu stable, The Sportstar continued the great tradition, it was a dependable magazine, it used to give the right picture. At a time when we used to see only our passport size photos often, there were some lovely pictures of my running style in action.

That meant a lot to a young athlete like me then, it motivated me in a big way.
