Ace boxer Vijender Singh may face Chinese No.1 and WBO Oriental Super middleweight champion Zulpikar Maimaitiali if ongoing negotiations between the promoters of both the boxers click.

The battle between two of the biggest pro-fighters will decide the winner of the ‘King of Asia’ title. The event, which is likely to take place in early August, will be hosted in Mumbai.

This will be a double title fight where both will put their respective titles at stake. Whosoever defends his title and claims the opponent’s crown will be declared the winner, said Vijender’s promoter IOS in a release on Monday.

The 22-year-old undefeated Zulpikar has fought eight bouts with 24 rounds under his belt. Zulpikar has won seven bouts with five knockout wins and one draw. The Chinese boxer, who debuted in 2015, won the WBO Oriental title in July last.

Vijender, who retained his WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight title, also debuted in 2015 and has boxed 30 rounds in his eight wins, including seven knockouts.
