Viswanathan Anand’s sequence of draws stretched to five rounds after he split the point with Anish Giri in the sixth round of Croatia Grand Chess Tour here on Monday.

For a change, the other five games proved decisive. Among these, Ding Liren upstaged overnight leader Ian Nepomniachtchi. Magnus Carlsen and Wesley So joined Nepomniachtchi at four points after fluent victories.
