Mohammad Nabi was the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan with figures of two for 23. He was ably supported by fellow off-spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman who went for 34 in his 10 overs, snapping up two.

Babar Azam continued his run glut in this World Cup with a 51-ball 45 including five fours before being cleaned up by Mohammad Nabi.

Asghar Afghan top scored for Afghanistan with a brisk 42 off 35 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes during his knock which was matched only by Nazibullah Zadran, who too hit 42 in 54 balls including six fours.

Shaheen Afridi picked four wickets to rattle Afghanistan's top-order. He got rid of Gulbadin Naib and Shahidi off successive balls. He later returned to account for Najibullah Zadran and Rashid Khan to restrict Afghanistan to a modest score.
