India strengthened its bowling line-up for the remaining three ODIs against the Windies by bringing in Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah in the side.
On Thursday, the national selectors announced the squad for the last three ODIs and maintained the same side as the last two games but only added the two pacers in the side. This has perhaps been done keeping the forthcoming Australia tour in mind and the selectors would be hoping to see how Kumar and Bumrah perform after returning from injury lay-overs.
While the two pacers returned, Mohammad Shami was rested. Shami, who is one of India's pace mainstays in the longer format, hasn't had a good outing in the first two matches as he gave away 140 runs and picked just three wickets.
The third, fourth and fifth ODIs are scheduled to be played on October 27 (Pune), October 29 (CCI, Mumbai) and November 1 (Thiruvananthapuram).
