Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler forged a 60-run opening stand for Rajasthan Royals in the chase of 159 against RCB. Buttler scored 59 off 43 balls to take RCB out of the contest.
Earlier, Bangalore rode on Parthiv Patel's fifty to post 158 for the loss of four wickets.
Ab de Villiers fell cheaply for just 13 runs.
Shreyas Gopal's 3-12 made sure RCB never had the momentum to post a big total. The leg-spinner's wicket of Virat Kohli, where he ran through the Indian skipper's defence, was the highlight of the match.
Marcus Stoinis did his part with an unbeaten 31.
Yuzvendra Chahal provided the first breakthrough for RCB by trapping Ajinkya Rahane.
Despite Rahane's wicket, Steve Smith alongside Rahul Tripathi, put up a stand of 50 runs for the third wicket to take Rajasthan to the finishing line.
Rajasthan lost Smith's wicket in the 19th over with his team needing 5 runs off the last over. However, Rahul Tripathi finished off the innings with a six to seal a seven-wicket win for the Royals.
