Umesh Yadav manages to connect one of his trademark slogs for SIX. Eight runs off the over but CSK completes the win by 63 runs.

Second wicket for Mustafizur! Tewatia is in slog mode and throws the kitchen sink at the length ball. Gets it off the toe end and is caught at long off.

Pathirana strikes Tewatia on the pad. He is given leg before but Tewatia goes up for a review. The ball again pitches outside leg and Tewatia survives. FOUR! Pathirana goes short and Tewatia was anticipating it. Swivels and hooks it through fine leg.

WICKET! Mustafizur strikes, Rashid has to walk back. Tries to slog the ball from outside off. He gets the height but not the distance as deep mid wicket gets under it and takes the catch.

Rachin Ravindra is tracking back from cover to get under it, and it proves a little too much for him as he fails to maintain his balance. The ball pops out of his hands.. OUT! Two balls later, Sudharsan holes out at long on. GT staring down the barrel.

Chahar for his final over. Sudharsan taps to cover and picks a single. Ruturaj makes the throw and hits and the overthrows allows a second run. Chahar’s bouncer to Omarzai goes too high, given WIDE. Seven runs from the over in all. 

Jadeja for his second over. Just six runs from the over including a couple for Sudharsan. GT will need to start picking boundaries from hereon. The run rate, otherwise, goes beyond reach.

Tushar Deshpande back into the attack. Sudharsan taps the first ball to deep mid wicket for one run. Miller pulls in front of square and takes on Rahane to complete two runs. He has to put in a dive but gets in. WICKET! Miller is gone! Miller tries to slot this over-pitched ball over mid wicket. Rahane chases it but needs to lunge forward to get under it. Completes the take with a roll forward.

Mustafizur to Sudharsan, FOUR! Picks the slower ball and late cuts it to the third man boundary. FOUR for Miller now! He gets a top edge which flies over Dhoni. Miller gets an inside egde but the ball flies wide off the stumps, allowing a single to fine leg. 13 runs from the over.

Mitchell with his second. Four!! Miller makes room and slaps it through extra cover for a boundary. Short of a length, Sudharsan gets a top edge but it falls well short of the deep mid fielder running in. Four!! Short of a length on the pads, Sudharsan turns it past short fine leg and to the fence for four. 

Impact player Pathirana into the attack. Sudharsan flicks the first ball to deep mid-wicket for a double. Four!! Full outside off, finds Miller’s edge but it flies to deep third man for a boundary. Ten runs from the over. 

Daryl Mitchell into the attack. Full and wide, sliced to square third man for a single. Slower ball on the stumps, Shankar gets a double to deep midwicket. WICKET!! What a catch!! Mitchell induces Shankar’s edge, Dhoni leaps full length to his right and gobbles it up.

Deshpande continues. Six!! Short of a length ball, Shankar pulls it over mid-wicket for a six! Shankar comes down the track, Deshpande shortens the length and the batter has to defend.

Chahar with his third over. Short slower ball, Sudharsan pulls it to deep square for a single. Saha is rattled on the helmet by a short one. Mandatory checks underway. WICKET!! Short of a good length, Saha pulls it straight down the throat of Deshpande at deep square.

Gill reviews. Three reds and Gill has to depart. Big breakthrough for CSK!

GT has been given a slow over rate penalty. Only four fielders outside the circle for the side now. Mohit Sharma bowling the final over of the innings. WICKET! Rizvi holes out at long on trying to slog.

Rashid to bowl the next. Mitchell gets an outside edge but the ball lands short of third man; one run taken. OUT! Dube goes. Rashid turns it away from the left hander and Dube has to fetch it from way outside off. He slices it to cover.

Sameer Rizvi walks in now. SIX off the first delivery. On his pads and he heaves it over deep square leg. Cuts the next to deep point for two runs. SIX off the final delivery. Rizvi dances down the track and swipes it over long off.

Mohit to Mitchell, a single to long on off the first ball. SIX! In the slot and Dube tonks it over long off. A miscued pull to deep mid wicket for one. A single for Mitchell on the fourth delivery. FIFTY for Dube, gets a couple off the final delivery. Just 22 balls taken.

He waits for the ball to come onto him and pulls it past short fine leg.

Rashid Khan for his third over. Mitchell fails to beat the short third fielder with his attempted reverse sweep. A single on the next ball with a tap to long on. Dube plays across the line to mid wicket for another single. FOUR! A reverse sweep again for Mitchell and this time he gets it to the fence. SIX to finish the over. Dube clears his front leg on this length ball and clears the long on fence.

Spencer to Dube, swiped down to long on. OUT! Gaikwad is caught behind. He tries to pull a delivery which is outside off stump. Does not connect and gets a faint inside edge.

Rachin edges the final ball, but it falls ahead of Sai Kishore at slip.

Shubman Gill: We will bowl first. The first match was physical and mentally exhausting. Everyone is well rested and well settled. It shows the character of the team, the way our bowlers bounced back against Mumbai. We’re playing with the same team.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: We were looking to bowl first, wicket is hard and similar to the first game. It was a rusty start but we came back well. Everyone showed good intent throughout the innings. Pathirana comes in for Theekshana.

There’s a lot of grass on the surface; unsual for Chepauk. A few patches where there is uneven covering of grass. The spinners will come into play in the middle overs. It’s a bat-first wicket.
