GT vs DC Highlights IPL 2024: Fraser-McGurk, Porel cameos help Delhi Capitals complete facile chase vs Gujarat Titans

Rashid continues. Slightly short, Pant pulls for a single. Sumit punches one to point to get a single. Six!! Pant lofts a full one over long off for six. Pant mistimes the sweep, goes straight up but Johnson loses track of it and it falls safe. 

Noor Ahmad into the attack. Pant goes for the sweep first ball, doesn’t connect. Four!! Slightly wide, Pant lofts it over short cover for four. Short on the pads to Sumit, manages to get a leg bye. 

Rishabh Pant in at 5. Rashid into the attack. WICKET!! Hope goes for the reverse sweep against Rashid, picks out Mohit Sharma at short third.

Full on the pads, Hope flicks it over midwicket for another six. Six!! Short of a length, Porel pulls it over deep square leg for six. WICKET!! Full and straight, cleans up Porel who was late on the shot.

Johnson continues. Slightly short outside off stump, Porel guides to third man for a single. Hope gets off the mark with a single. Four!! Slightly wide outside off, Porel cuts through off side for a boundary. Four!! Short and pulled through deep square for another boundary.

Warrier continues. GT opt for a review after is Shaw is rapped on the pads. Wickets missing on hitting and GT burn a review. Four!! Slightly short, Shaw lofts it over midwicket for a boundary. Shaw drives one straight down the ground, just past the bowler, not enough to take it to the fence, but will get a couple. WICKET!! Warrier with an excellent short ball. Shaw tries to get it past third man, provides an easy catch.

Spencer Johnson in from the other end. Six!! McGurk makes room and lofts one over cover for six. Johnson goes short, McGurk slaps it straight to mid off. Four!! Short and wide, McGurk cuts it past point for a boundary. WICKET!! McGurk gets into an awkward position, gives an easy catch to deep mid wicket.

Prithvi Shaw guides the first ball to third man for a single. Six!! Length ball Fraser-McGurk lofts it straight down the ground for six. Four!! Full again, lofted down the ground for a boundary this time. Single to follow. Appeals for LBW against Shaw as Warrier bowls one on the pads, looked to be going down leg but GT reviews. Umpires call on hitting, Shaw survives. 

Mukesh Kumar picks another wicket with a back-of-length delivery that hurried Rashid Khan and found the outside edge, with Pant taking a simple catch. An upper cut that just the batsman couldn’t pull off. It’s all over with Mukesh uprooting the off-stump of Noor Ahmad with the bowler shining with three wickets. 

Rashid finally connects as he smokes Kuldeep over the long-off for a huge maximum, and that’s the first six of the evening. A googly that was dispatched into the crowd. 

Excellent from Axar Patel as the spinner finishes with figures of 4-0-17-1 and the control has been brilliant. 

Khaleel is back into the attack, and Delhi needs to finish the last five overs well. The boundaries aren’t coming easily, with Rashid also struggling. Khaleel gets rewarded with a wicket as Mohit falls, with the bowler finishing with 4-1-18-1. 

Mohit Sharma joins Rashid Khan with Delhi, continuing with the spin of Axar Patel. It’s a struggle for the Gujarat batsmen, and it remains to be seen if they can bat out the 20 overs. 

The lines from Kuldeep have been brilliant and he is bowling around the wicket with a slip in pace. Gujarat is struggling to score runs. 

Axar Patel continues and a run-out opportunity goes begging, but the spinner strikes as he traps Tewatia, and there is absolutely no momentum from Gujarat. Seven down and they are reeling. A review also doesn’t help the batsman, as the umpire’s call stays. 

Kuldeep Yadav continues and beats Tewatia with the slowness of the pitch, helping the spinner. There is grip and turn, and Kuldeep is at his best with his brilliant wrist spin. 

Axar Patel enters the attack, and Rashid Khan is not looking at the scorecard. A streaky start, but that fetches him two boundaries. He is in his zone. 

Spin from both ends as Tristan Stubbs partners Kuldeep Yadav, and the spinner strikes straightaway, with Pant being sharp with his keeping. It’s absolutely brilliant from the Delhi skipper as Abhinav Manohar falls. A brilliant stumping from Pant. Another stumping from Pant and boy, what an evening he is having! It was a tricky one with the ball not sticking in the gloves of Pant but the third umpire was happy as the ball dislodged the bails with Shahrukh Khan out of the crease. 

First signs of spin as Kuldeep Yadav gets into the attack and there has been a remarkable improvement with control and slower pace. There was turn and bounce, and it’s a good start from Kuldeep with Delhi caging Gujarat. 

The pace attack continues, and Delhi has used only three bowlers and has been successful with the slowness of the pitch helping the bowlers. Rahul Tewatia gets off the mark with a boundary through the covers. 

Abhinav Manohar was almost gone, but Rishabh Pant was blinded as the ball fell just short of him. The PowerPlay belongs to Delhi, with Pant, Ishant, and Mushek shining with their respective skills. 

Huge wicket as Sai Sudharsan falls with Sumit Kumar with a superb direct hit and Delhi is bossing the game at this moment. David Miller walks back, with Rishabh Pant taking an excellent catch and Ishant Sharma picking his second wicket. It was a brilliant take, and Gujarat is four down.

Mukesh Kumar is being introduced into the attack, and it’s the pacers who are operating with the new ball. It’s been a two-paced surface, with the ball just stopping before coming on to the bat. Mukesh strikes as he castles Saha and Gujarat is in early trouble. 

Sai Sudharsan gets off the mark with a single to the cover region. Gujarat is taking a cautious approach after the fall of Gill. However, Sudharsan shows his class with two boundaries, and the one through covers was simply brilliant. 

Ishant Sharma into the attack, and the new ball is moving a bit, but Delhi needs to remove Gill early. The timing has been great, and the placement is brilliant. A flash through the covers, and there is no stopping the ball from running down the boundary. However, Ishant strikes, as this time Gill hits straight to the fielder at extra cover, with Prithvi Shaw taking a clean catch. 

Khaleel Ahmed starts off well and there is a hint of movement as a length delivery beats Wriddhiman Saha. Gill is off the mark with a glorious flick through the mid-wicket. Class from Gill!
