Wasim Akram left 'embarrassed and humiliated' at Manchester airport

Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram took to Twitter to express his disappointment after he was mistreated by Manchester airport officials.

Legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram was left 'disheartened' after he was made to take out his medication at Manchester airport on Tuesday.  

Akram tweeted that airport officials asked him to take out his diabetes medication and place it in a plastic bag.

Akram, a diabetic, has been taking insulin injections for long.

"Very disheartened at Manchester airport today, I travel around the world with my insulin but never have I been made to feel embarrassed. Felt very humiliated as I was rudely questioned & ordered publicly to take my insulin out of its travel cold-case & dumped in to a plastic bag," the former Pakistan captain tweeted.

Akram, who has taken 414 Test wickets in 104 matches, has played County cricket in the UK. The former left-arm pace bowler, a star of Pakistan's victorious team at the 1992 World Cup, was a part of the commentary team in the 2019 edition of the tournament.
