From his friends in Chandigarh to his team-mates in the Indian side -- everybody has a tale to tell about Yuvraj Singh. But as the 37-year-old all-rounder walked into retirement on Monday , former Ireland cricketer, Niall O’Brien, still remembers how Yuvraj helped him out during the World Cup in 2011.

After playing a 2011 World Cup league match against India in Bengaluru, Irish stumper Niall discovered that his kit -- which had six bats -- was missing. And on hearing about this incident, it was Yuvraj who came forward to help him.

Despite being a superstar, he not only offered him to choose a bat from his kit, but also advised him to lodge a complaint with the police. Even Suresh Raina gifted him one of the bats.

Yuvraj was regularly in touch with Niall, until his new kit came from Ireland. “He is a lovely man,” Niall told Sportstar from London on Monday. He still finds it 'amazing to think' how a star like Yuvraj took the time to help him out.

In his days of prime, Yuvraj was known for his flamboyance off the field, but this little gesture developed a huge fan following among the Irish players, which still remains intact!
