The Premier League is witnessing one of its closest title races ever. Manchester City and Liverpool have been at the top of their games for 37 weeks and have barely given each other any breathing space this season, setting up a tantalising final day finish.
Man City (95) is only a point ahead of Liverpool (94) heading into the final matchday on Sunday and either team could come out of it as champion. However, there's also a possibility, albeit remote, of the Premier League champion being decided by a playoff match. Here are the possible outcomes:
Manchester City wins the league
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City only needs to win against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium to ensure it defends its Premier League crown.

Liverpool wins the league
Liverpool can lift its first league title in 29 years if it wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield and City draws or loses against Brighton.
The insane possibility of a playoff
If Man City loses 4-0 against Brighton and Liverpool draws 4-4 against Wolves, then they end up being level on points, goal difference, goals scored and goals conceded.
This would mean a single game playoff will be required to decide the champion. The odds of this happening are 63,000-1. Sounds almost impossible, but hey, with football you never know!
The Premier League has never seen a playoff before but there have been similar situations where a playoff has looked like a possibility. Ahead of the final matchday of the 1995/96 Premier League season, Manchester United led Newcastle United by two points. A first run of tickets were also printed in case of a playoff.
Will the Premier League witness a first of its kind playoff or will a winner be decided by then? All answers on Sunday.
