After his side crashed out of the FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 loss to Belgium in the quarterfinal, Brazil coach Tite rued his team's missed chances.
"It was a great match where we had ball possession and opportunities but Belgium was more effective. (Thibaut) Courtois made a difference as a goalkeeper and I want to talk about refereeing as it will look like whining. Only in case of Gabriel (Jesus) they should have used VAR," he said.

"We had 17 shots on targets and these figures needed to be translated. It was a technical game and if you like football, you have to watch this game. If you are not emotionally invested then you can say what a match as it had everything, goals, transitions, great saves.
We had two-thirds of the game we had them wrapped around our fingers and after conceding two goals we were relentless. We kept on creating and the players kept on going," added Tite.
The 57-year-old coach clarified that luck had nothing to do with the evening's outcome. "Football has many variables and has to be seen in context. They have experienced and top players and I don't like to talk about luck. It's an educated manner of putting down people's skills, they were skilful and there was no luck."

"The quality was in both sides and the fans can access as they have their own mind. Sometimes pain takes over and it is hard for me talk to you and the fans can transcend the result of the match. They recognised our game and that's why they are still loving fans," he added.
Tite brushed away questions about his future with the side by saying, "I am not going to talk about the future as it is not appropriate."
