Odisha FC vs Mohun Bagan Highlights, OFC 0-0 MBSG, ISL 2023-24: Sadiku and Mauricio miss chances for both sides leaving it all square

A goalless draw played out in the end by Odisha and Mohun Bagan as both sides created plenty of chances, but failed to be prolific in front of goal. Sadiku missed a couple of great chances in the first half and a strong strike by Odisha’s Diego Mauricio struck the crossbar keeping things level. 

A cross in by Asish to Cummings on the near post, but his header is saved heroically by Odisha’s keeper. 

Roy Krishna was deep inside MBSG’s half on the right wing but Subhasish rushes and clears the ball out. 

Manvir dribbles into the box from the left but his finish is deflected right into the keeper’s gloves. 

As we move into the business end of the match both sides seem to be going hammer and tongs for the opening goal but are yet to make that perfect finish into the net. A draw will make things even tighter in the league table which is why both sides will be hoping to find the net soon. 

Diego Mauricio dribbles past three defenders inside the box from the left, but is stopped by Yuste right in front of the goal. 

Sadiku makes way for Jason Cummings.

Roy Krishna paces with the ball down the right flank and cuts in to take a shot with two defenders breathing down his neck, Unfortunately for him, the ball lands on the wrong side of the far post. 

A cross in by Petratos which lands in front of Manvir as he takes a volley, slightly off the target. 

Asish was through on goal but Odisha’s Jerry shields the ball away and gives away a corner. 

Odisha plays it ahead down the right wing as Amey plays a cutting pass across goal but he is ruled off-side. 

Fall takes too much time inside the box as Manvir wins the ball, passing it to Kauko, who plays it to Sadiku inside the box, but the finish lacked the pace and placement. Straight to the keeper. 

MBSG slots a cross in from the left but a strong clearance by the tall figure of M. Fall. 

The second half begins as Petratos takes a shot from a distance. A comfortabel save for the Odisha FC keeper. 

Both sides have come teasingly close to finding the net but as things stand, its all square at halftime. Both sides will be looking to be more prolific in front of goal in the second 45. 

Mauricio plays a one-touch backheel through ball to Isak Ralte on the right who cuts in and takes a shot aiming towards the near post, but the ball misses the target. 

Diego Mauricio dribbles into the box with pace and beats a few defenders before firing the ball hard goal-wards but the ball strikes the crossbar keeping it all square. 

Princeton gets the ball 40 yards from the goal as he takes a long shot that swivels in the air and is on target, but caught by the Mohun Bagan keeper. 

Roy Krishna wins the ball well high up the pitch and passes it to Mauricio inside the box, but the forward takes too much time and fails to register a shot on goal. 

MBSG presses high and wins the ball deep into Odisha’s half as Asish plays it in the middle to Kauko but his pass to Sadiku is intercepted as Odisha itself breaks into a counter. 

Odisha misplaces a pass in its own box as Sahal intercepts and plays it to Sadiku, who’s sliding finish is saved by the Odisha Keeper, but only just. 

Mauricio finds the gap inside the box but Subhasish block the shot well. 

Sadiku squanders a big chance as he was through on goal with only the keeper to beat, but the attacker takes too much time as the Odisha defenders close in on him and forcing him to fire shot over the cross-bar. 

Roy Krishna wins the ball on the right as he tries to play a through to Diego but the move amounts to nothing. 

Puitea takes the free-kick but fires it over the cross-bar.

Sadiku and Petratos play a quick one-two but are forced out on the left away from the Odisha Goal. OFC breaks into a counter and Diego wins a free-kick in a dangerous position at the edge of the box. 

Isak Ralte ‘s high press wins the ball off of Anwar as the ball goes over the keeper and teasingly close to the goal. 

Puitea brings Asish down as Odisha tries to move ahead from the left through the crowded MBSG midfield. 

Mohun Bagan has been on the front foot so far and is controlling the tempo of the game. 

Sadiku was in on goal and fired out a shot but Fall made a brilliant block to keep his keeper free. 

Mohun Bagan tries to dominate the possession and hold the ball but Odisha is pressing strong and high.
