Mumbai City FC has signed India's U-20 international defender Anwar Ali from Minerva Punjab on a three-year deal, the ISL club announced on Tuesday.

Ali, 17, scored a spectacular free-kick to help India defeat Argentina 2-1 in the COTIF Cup on Sunday.
The Punjab-born centre-back also impressed with Indian Arrows on loan during the 2017-18 I-League season despite finishing last in the table.
In last year's FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India, Ali was a starter in all three group stage matches.

Ali will be the third World Cupper to ply his trade in the Indian Super League after Komal Thatal (ATK) and Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem (Kerala Blasters).
