India completed a grand double by winning golds in the men's and women's kabaddi events.

The men's team won its sixth consecutive gold medal since the introduction of the sport in 1990 and the women's team clinched its maiden Games gold at the Nansha Gymnasium. Women's kabaddi made its debut in Guangzhou.

India men beat Iran 37-20 and maintained their winning streak in the sport.

Earlier, Indian women defeated Thailand 28-14 in the final.

India was in complete control of the game right from the start and with aggressive tackling took a 17-7 lead at the halfway stage.

In the second half, the nimble footed Thai girls did their best for a comeback but the superior Indian team managed 11 points compared to Thailand's seven and won the match easily.
