Ducati have signed Danilo Petrucci as Jorge Lorenzo's replacement from the 2019 season onwards.

The MotoGP merry-go-round has been in full swing since Lorenzo's win in Italy on Sunday, with the Spaniard set to join Marc Marquez at Repsol Honda after Dani Pedrosa's departure was confirmed.

And Alma Pramac's Petrucci will now step into the void left by Lorenzo, signing a two-year contract with Ducati.

Petrucci, 27, who has never won a race in MotoGP but finished second at Le Mans last month, joins fellow Italian Andrea Dovizioso at his new team.
