Tumer seems to crumble under pressure with a seven and the two 9* shots are converted into one 10 and one 9. India edges past Turkiye 55-54

India scores 27 with Dhiraj scoring 10. Turkiye in response manages to score 29 in its first three arrows. 

Turkiye wins 55-52 as Tumer hits a 10 in his second arrow this set. India trails 0-2.

India struggles with just 52 points as Turkiye needs 26 to win the set 2. 

Turkiye scores 57 points in contrast to India’s 53 to win first set and earn two points.

The first three shots for the Indian men’s team are 9, 10, 7 respectively.

Understand the points system better: Each archer will shoot twice in one set. Both countries have four sets to outdo the other team. 

The Indian men’s team - comprising Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav - finished third in the qualification round. The men’s team, totalling 2013 points, came behind Korea and France, and will face either Turkiye in the quarterfinals. If it wins, it is likely to play France in the semifinals.

Lakshya continues where he left off in the previous set, leading 9-4 in the second against Carraggi. 

Novak Djokovic seals the first set 6-1 against Rafael Nadal in the men’s singles second round encounter at Court Phillipe Chatrier.
