Indian star paddler Manika Batra was bestowed with the International Table Tennis Federation's (ITTF) 'Breakthrough Star Award 2018' during a ceremony at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Incheon (South Korea) here on Wednesday.

At the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast earlier this year, Manika won four medals including the historic women's singles gold, team gold, women's doubles silver (with Mouma Das) and mixed doubles bronze (with G. Sathiyan).

She had also bagged the bronze in the mixed doubles (with Sharath Kamal) at the 2018 Asian Games, also reaching her career-best ranking of 52 in 2018.

"Thank you ITTF for acknowledging my effort and giving me the award. Thanks to [coach] Sandeep Gupta, Subodh Mor (fitness coach), TTFI, SAI, Indian Oil, India Sports, my family and well wishers for all the support. I will continue to keep striving forward," Manika tweeted.
