India’s main hopes in the junior girls – Archana Kamath and Selena Selvakumar – bowed out in the second round of the 2017 ITTF World junior circuit India Junior and Cadet Open.

Manav Thakkar will take on Manush Shah in the junior boys semifinals of the 2017 ITTF World junior circuit India Junior and Cadet Open on Wednesday.

However, the host’s main hopes in the junior girls – Archana Kamath and Selena Selvakumar – bowed out in the second round. Surbi Patwari stunned Archana 11-4, 13-11, 11-9, 9-11, 18-16 and Thailand’s second seed Jinnipa Swaettabut took out Selena 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7.

On the brighter side Surbi reached the semifinals before Yashini Sivasankar joined her by knocking out Jinnipa.
