Divij Sharan in partnership with Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner was beaten 7-5, 7-6(5) in the doubles pre-quarterfinals by Oliver Marach and Jurgen Melzer of Austria in the ATP tennis tournament on grass in Halle, Germany.
After having two rounds in the qualification event in a field of four teams, it was hard for Divij and partner to swallow the defeat which meant that the duo did not get a single ATP point, but collected € 8,790.
In the Challenger in Bratislava, Sumit Nagal outplayed Gerard Granollers of Spain 6-3, 6-1 in the second round, after a bye in the first.
In the ITF women’s event in Portugal, former Asian junior champion, Rutuja Bhosale progressed into the singles second round and doubles quarterfinals.
