Divij Sharan loses doubles semifinals in Switzerland

Divij Sharan in partnership with Artem Sitak of New Zealand was beaten 6-1, 6-3 by the Zverev brothers of Germany, Alexander and Mischa, in the doubles semifinals of the € 2,442,740 ATP tennis tournament in Switzerland.

The semifinal entry was worth 180 ATP points and €31,630 for the Indo-Kiwi pair.

Top seeds Leander Paes in partnership with Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela was beaten 3-6, 6-4, 10-2 by the Belgians Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen in the doubles final of the Challenger in France.

The title was worth 110 ATP points and €6,580 while the runners-up collected 65 points and  €3,820.

In the final of the $25,000 ITF women’s event in China, Karman Kaur Thandi was beaten 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 by Xinyun Han of China.

In a battle of wits that lasted two hours and 35 minutes, Karman was on par with her Chinese opponent, as both won 99 points and broke serve five times each, but the Chinese won the key points at the crunch.

$25,000 ITF women, Nanning, China

Singles (final): Xinyun Han (Chn) bt Karman Kaur Thandi 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
