Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova celebrates after beating Canada's Eugenie Bouchard.

Petra Kvitova's quest for a Connecticut Open repeat remains on track after she reached the quarterfinals defeating Eugenie Bouchard.

Two-time defending champion and sixth seed Kvitova barely raised a sweat as she powered past Bouchard in a little over an hour in New Haven on Wednesday.

Italians second seed Roberta Vinci was on court for just 57 minutes in her straight-sets win over qualifier Ana Konjuh.

Kirsten Flipkens and Johanna Larsson also progressed to the last eight following respective victories against Caroline Garcia and Shelby Rogers.

KVITOVA JUST LOVES NEW HAVEN

The two-time Wimbledon champion saw off Bouchard 6-3 6-2 to post her 10th consecutive win at the WTA Premier tournament.

Kvitova converted six of nine break points, while fending off three of her own, to earn a quarter-final meeting with Ekaterina Makarova, having rallied from 3-1 down in the opening set.

The Czech star - a three-time Connecticut Open winner - has not lost in New Haven since going down to Simona Halep in the 2013 decider.

VINCI BREAKS THROUGH AT CONNECTICUT OPEN

For the first time in her career, Vinci will contest a quarter-final in New Haven.

The Italian made light work of Konjuh, romping to a 6-2 6-2 victory.

Vinci overcame a slow start and a couple of break points to eventually take a 4-2 lead in the first set, an advantage she never relinquished.

It was more of the same in the second as Vinci claimed two break points late in the second to advance to the quarters where she will meet Larsson, who overcame Rogers 7-6 (7-1), 6-4.

VINCI REVELS IN LAST-EIGHT BERTH

"I love to play here in New Haven, I have great memories here from last year," she said. "And now I'm in quarterfinals, for the first time, so I'm so happy. I will try my best for tomorrow."

SEMIS ON THE AGENDA

Top seed Agnieszka Radwanska will face Flipkens in the quarter-finals on Thursday. Kvitova and Makarova will go head-to-head, Elina Svitolina is set to tackle Elena Vesnina, while Larsson will attempt to stop Vinci.
