Prannoy defeats Kashyap to win US Open Grand Prix Gold

H. S. Prannoy beat Parupalli Kashyap 21-15, 20-22, 21-12 in an all-India final to clinch his third Grand Prix Gold title.

H. S. Prannoy defeated compatriot Parupalli Kashyap to clinch the US Open Grand Prix Gold title on Monday. It's his third Grand Prix Gold win.

Prannoy beat Kashyap 21-15, 20-22, 21-12 in an all-India final.

A stunning comeback, after trailing 1-6, was required for Prannoy to win the first game.

Kashyap played a solid second game, not allowing Prannoy the lead. Whenever Prannoy levelled the score, Kashyap pulled away. From 18-20, Prannoy saved two game points. But Kashyap held his nerves to win it 22-20.

Errors from Kashyap in the decider saw Prannoy win the game quite easily.
