That's all from Day 6 at the World Boxing Championship. Mary Kom, Lovlina Borgohain, Simranjit Kaur and Sonia Chahal assured India of four medals at the tournament. The semi-finals will be played on Thursday and Friday.
Seema Poonia vs Yang Xiaoli
But by a unanimous verdict, Seema Poonia loses to Yang Xiaoli. India won't make it five medals in the tournament.
- Round 3: Seema really took the fight to Yang this round. It looks like she might just pull this off.
- Round 2: Seema has been really good in the second round. The bout still remains cagey but both boxers have taken their chances well.
- Round 1: It's been a pretty cagey start, with both boxing from afar. Seema's defensive composure has managed to frustrate the Chinese. She looks confident.
- It's time for heavyweight Seema Poonia's bout. She's in the red corner today.
-Stay tuned for the last Indian in action today. Seema Poonia takes on China's Xiaoli Yang in a quarterfinal bout in the Heavyweight (81kg) category.
- Welsh boxer Lauren Price wins her bout against Poland's Elzbieta Wojcik will face the number one seed Nouchka Mireille Fontijn in the semifinal.
Interesting story about Price, who quit a career in football for boxing. To chase her Olympic dream, she turned her back on a football career with Cardiff City and Wales. You'd Kickboxing would be a more natural transition.
Simranjit Kaur vs Amy Broadhurst
Simranjit wins by a 3:1 split verdict! It's a surprising result after such a strong performance from the Irish southpaw. Amy, expectedly, doesn't agree with the result. She must feel hard done by.
It's another medal assured for India - fourth one.
- Round 3: Simranjit has found it very hard to deal with that powerful left arm of Amy Broadhurst, who dominated the round. Simranjit went down on impact once.
- Round 2: Simranjit has been better this round. She hasn't let Broadhurst have it easy. But it's been a close round again, both boxers swinging well.
- Round 1: Amy Broadhurst seems to have the edge after a closely contested first round.
- Simranjit is in the red corner.
Sonia Chahal vs Yeni Castenada
- She's done it! Sonia wins by a 4:1 split decision and assures another medal for India as she advances to the semifinal of the feather weight (57kg) category.
- Round 3: Sonia looks confident of a win after a good third round where she was able to counter the dimunitve and quick Colombian.
- Round 2: Castenada seems to have overcome Sonia's overly defensive approach. Like Pinki, Sonia also got cautioned and asked to try to keep the fight to the middle of the ring. Castenada had a very good round, catching Sonia off guard on many occassions, pinning her against the ropes and swinging hard.
- Round 1: There's been good movement from Sonia but the forst round has been too close to call. Castenada threw hher weight behind a lot of those punches and the Colombian girl is looking a tough opponent despite her size. Sonia has boxed well though, keeping her cool.
- She is a way taller than Castenada and can use the height advantage to good effect.
- Sonia is in the blue corner. Her previous bout was mired in a bit of controversy.

- Up next is Sonia Chahal's quarterfinal bout against Colombia's Yeni Castenada in the Feather weight (57kg) category.
Pinki Rani vs Chol Mi Pang
- And Pinki loses by a unanimous decision.
- Round 3:
Pinki's footwork has been really good and she believes she's won. But it just doesn't look like it was her day. Pang has been too quick and has taken advantage of Pinki's lapses in concentration as well. The North Korean's long reach has hurt Pinki despite her constant movements. - Round 2:
This one has clearly belonged to Pang, as Pinki struggles to land a few good punches on her opponent. It's all down to the third round now. Can she pull this off?
- Round 1 :
It's been an exciting first round. Pang's longer reach has given her an advantage but Pinki looked the more adventurous. Pang has the edge.
- Pinki Rani is in the blue corner.
- Mary Kom and Lovlina have assured India of two medals so far. Can Pinki make it three?
-Virginia Fuchs takes the bout and she's into the semifinal which means, she could be Pinki's opponent next if the Indian gets past North Korea's Pang. That's next.

After review by the technical officials, AIBA has suspended Bulgaria's Stanimira Petrova and her coach Petar Lesov following their incensed reaction after defeat to India's Sonia Chahal on Monday. Here's a copy of the AIBA statement.
Bhagyabati Kachari vs Jessica Sinisterra
- Sinisterra wins the bout, by split decision 3-2.
- End of third-round: Sinisterra goes for two heavy punches, Bhagyabati manages to block one, but is unable to stop the second one on the left.
- Both the boxers are trading blows now, but Sinisterra looks more balanced on her feet.
- Sinisterra manages a right on Bhagyabati, but the Indian ducks the next attempt from her opponent.
- End of second-round: Another left hook from Bhagyabati breaks through Sinisterra's guard as she ends the second round on a good note.
- Sinisterra manages to get another hit to Bhagyabati's left. The Colombian is looking to dominate the second round.
- End of first-round: Bhagyabati manages to tag the Colombian with a left hook, but the latter looked more ominous.
- Sinisterra manages to tag the southpaw with a right.
- Both the boxers exchange punches in the opening exchanges. Bhagyabati keeps a good distance to evade her opponent's reach.
Lovlina Borgohain vs Kaye Scott
- Lovlina guarantees another medal for India! She wins the quarterfinal bout by unanimous decision 5-0. Second medal for India after Mary Kom confirmed her seventh World Championship medals.
- End of third-round: Scott manages to land few blows but Lovlina's punches are fended away by the Australian.
- End of second-round: This has been a relatively-strong round for the Indian as she will look to come back in the third round.
- End of first-round: After the Australian kept her defence tight in the first round and managed to use her longer reach to land few blows on Lovlina.
Manisha Maun vs Stoyka Petrova
- Manisha loses the tie due to split decision of 3-2. It looked like Manisha took the match, but a barrage of attacks in the third round by Petrova tilted the jugdes' decision in her favour.
- End of third-round: Manisha punches the air, confident of her victory. The judges decision is awaited.
- Manisha lands another right on the Bulgarian.
- Manisha is caught by Petrova twice in the third round. She needs to be careful to be able to move to the next round.
- End of second-round: Petrova pushes Manisha to the ground as she is clearly struggling as Manisha kept landing punches on every occasion.
- Another left hook from Manisha and Petrova looks lethargic against a superior opponent.
- End of first-round: Manisha finishes the opening round strongly as she lands multiple blows on target and Bulgarian looks flustered.
MC Mary Kom vs Yu Wu
- Mary Kom reaches the semis! Its a unanimous decision as the five-time world champion keeps the chances for a medal alive yet again.
- End of third-round: The Indian looks confident after a tough third round and we await the judgement.
- Wu Yu catches Mary Kom on the right and another time.
- End of Second-round: Mary Kom lands a wild left to her opponent's face, which finishes a fiercely-contested second round.
- Wu Yu escapes a big right from Mary Kom.
- Mary Kom starts patiently in the second round, making the Chinese come after her.
- End of first-round: Another big left from Mary Kom, her opponent tries to close in on multiple times, but the Indian finishes the first round with another jab.
- The Chinese gets a left on Mary Kom, but she comes back with a left hook of her own.
- Mary Kom walks out to the ring on the blue corner.
