Grand Swiss Chess: Anand registers second win, Adhiban moves to joint eighth place

While Anand recorded a second win, youngster Raunak Sadhani continued to impress as he maintained his unbeaten run after his fifth draw against a Grandmaster.

B. Adhiban returned to winning ways by beating England’s David Howell and moved to the joint eighth-place, with Magnus Carlsen among others, after five rounds of FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss here on Monday.

Adhiban now has 3.5 points, half a point behind the leaders’ pack of seven players headed by World No. 2. Fabinao Caruana.

Viswanathan Anand, too, stayed on road to recovery with a second win and reached three points.

Youngster Raunak Sadhani continued to impress as he maintained his unbeaten run after his fifth draw against a Grandmaster.

Young GM Abhimanyu Puranik defeated former World junior champion Ahmed Adly to reach three points.
