It finished fourth in the tournament behind champion India, runner-up Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Afghanistan has won seven of the 12 T20Is it has played so far this year. Its win places Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in a virtual knockout match for the second Super 4 spot from Group B on Thursday.
