CAB elections: Sourav Ganguly-led panel unopposed

Sourav Ganguly filed his nomination for the post of president, while Avishek Dalmiya, the current joint-secretary, filled in the papers for the secretary's job.

There was no opposition to the Sourav Ganguly-led panel for office-bearers posts as the deadline for filing nominations for the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) elections ended here on Saturday.

While current CAB head Ganguly filed his nomination for the post of president, Avishek Dalmiya, who is holding the post of joint secretary as per the old constitution, filled in the papers for secretary’s job.

Naresh Ojha (vice-president), Debashish Ganguly (treasurer) and Debabrata Das (joint secretary) filed their nominations for other office-bearers posts.

Earlier, the elections were scheduled to be held on September 28.
