Duleep Trophy 2022: Manoj Tiwary to lead East Zone squad

Seven players in the East Zone squad are from Bengal, while four are from Jharkhand. Two from Assam and one each from Odisha and Tripura are also in the squad.

A 15-member East Zone squad, led by former Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary, was named on Thursday for the upcoming Duleep Trophy matches.

Four standbys were also named at the selection committee meeting held in Ranchi.

Seven players are from Bengal, while four are from Jharkhand. Two from Assam and one each from Odisha and Tripura are in the squad.

Two leading Bengal cricketers, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Mukesh Kumar, are part of the India A squad for its matches against New Zealand A.

East Zone: Manoj Tiwary (captain), Virat Singh (vice-captain), Nazim Siddiqui, Sudip Kumar Gharami, Shantanu Mishra, Anustup Majumdar, Riyan Parag, Kumar Kushagra, Abishek Porel (wk), Shahbaz Ahmed, Shahbaz Nadeem, Ishan Porel, Akash Deep, Mukhtar Hussain, Mani Shankar Murasingh.
Standy players: Abhijeet Saket, Rajesh Mohanty, Sayan Sekhar Mondal, Anukul Roy.
