Opener Shubman Gill has jumped a whopping 45 places to be ranked 38th in the ICC ODI rankings released on Wednesday. The 22-year-old youngster was among the runs in the three-match series against Zimbabwe, scoring his maiden ton (130 off 97 balls) in the last game in Harare.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who did not feature in the ODIs against Zimbabwe, held on to his fifth position (rating points: 744). Captain Rohit Sharma, who was also rested for the series against Zimbabwe, continued to occupy the sixth spot. Shikhar Dhawan, who also had a productive run against Zimbabwe (154 runs in three matches), was ranked 12th.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam continues to be the top-ranked batter (891 points) and is followed by South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen (789). New Zealand star pacer Trent Boult tops the bowling charts while Shakib Al Hasan leads the all-rounders’ charts.

Rabada now World No. 3

After his spectacular display against England at Lord’s, South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada climbed to No. 3 — up from No. 5 — in the latest ICC Test rankings. Rabada claimed his maiden five-wicket haul at Lord’s and finished with seven in the match.

Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje, and Marco Jansen were some of the other players from the team to rise up in the rankings. Opener Sarel Erwee jumped 35 spots to be joint-64th (alongside Jos Buttler) in the rankings for batters.

Stuart Broad, who scored 35 off 29 deliveries, also rose up the charts in the rankings for all-rounders.
