The venues for the second and third Test between India and South Africa have been swapped. Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had scheduled the second Test in Ranchi from October 10-14, while Pune was to host the third Test from October 19-23.
However, with the Durga Puja festival clashing with the dates of the second Test, the Jharkhand State Association had requested the Board to swap the games.
With the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) accepting the JSCA’s request, Pune will now host the second Test, while Ranchi will be allotted the third fixture.
“Durga Puja is a big festival in this part of the country, so we had written to the Board requesting them to shift the Test. We are glad that the CoA granted us the third Test,” a JSCA official told Sportstar .
South Africa will play three T20Is and three Tests in India between September 15 and October 23.
