Chahal has starred with the ball in the ongoing edition of the IPL despite RCB's poor run.

For Yuzvendra Chahal, it will be a first World Cup outing and the leg-spinner is looking forward to making an impact in the English conditions.

“I am excited [because] it is my first World Cup. Everyone wants to represent the country in the World Cup, so I’m excited,” Chahal said on Monday, after Royal Challengers Bangalore's five-wicket loss against Mumbai Indians.

The spinner, who is an integral part of RCB in the Indian Premier League, however, made it clear that at the moment he is thinking about the next six matches of the franchise.

“World Cup is after one month and I'm still playing for the RCB so I'm just looking for next (six) matches,” he said.

Even though the team is reeling at the bottom of the league table, Chahal is confident of RCB’s chances of making the IPL playoffs. “We still have six games left and you never know what will happen next,” he said.

While the spinners have fared better, pace bowling has been an area of concern for RCB this season. “You can’t blame a particular bowler, a medium pacer or a spinner for not bowling good, it is a team game. If we lose the game I'm accepting that,” he said.
