When Sanju Samson takes on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), in IPL 2018, at Jaipur, he wants to start afresh.

Sanju Samson is brimming with confidence after his match-winning knock, against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the other day. And when Rajasthan Royals (RR) takes on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sanju hopes to keep the momentum going.

“We will keep things simple and the plans will be similar to the last game. We will have the same enthusiasm, to win another match, in Jaipur. Coming back to Jaipur is a positive sign for Rajasthan Royals and we hope to maintain the winning run,” Sanju said, on Tuesday.

Rajasthan Royals has had a hectic schedule in the tournament, playing back to back games. However, Sanju believes that it is not a problem. “IPL, in general, is a bit hectic. In a high-intensity game, it is important to recover fast. You need to keep your body refreshed throughout to ensure that you have a good run,” the Kerala-based wicketkeeper-batsman said.

His performance has earned him praises from mentor Shane Warne and Sanju is enjoying every moment. “It feels great. We are lucky to have Shane Warne in our side. He is a positive person and a positive cricketer, he will always make you stay positive,” he said.

Nevertheless, when he takes on Kolkata, he wants to start afresh. “That was a different ground and a different team. The conditions change, so we will start from zero,” he said.

The game is being touted as a contest between Nitish Rana and him, and Sanju thanks the rich domestic structure for producing talented cricketers. “If you look at the Indian domestic set up, the talent is immense. Risabh Pant is doing amazing for DD, there’s Nitish Rana. There are a lot of players. We can see the quality of Indian domestic cricket,” he said.

Sanju is also ready to bat anywhere in the order. “I have been batting in all the orders. Rajasthan Royals has tried me in various orders. So, as a player, you need to prepare yourself for whatever the team demands,” the youngster said.
