India's most successful ODI and T20I captain M.S. Dhoni could be behind the mic as a commentator for the day-night Test between India and Bangladesh at Eden Gardens in Kolkata starting November 22.

According to ANI , the official broadcaster Star Sports has sent BCCI a proposal but is yet to receive a decision.

A BCCI source told ANI : "Yes, the broadcasters have sent the proposal but no decision has been taken as of now... If BCCI gives the permission then Dhoni would be seen doing commentary on day-night test, to be played in Eden Gardens."

Dhoni remains an active player for India, though he hasn't featured in the national colours since India's 2019 World Cup campaign, which ended with the loss in semifinal to New Zealand.

The M.S.K. Prasad-led selection committee has left out Dhoni for the T20I series against South Africa and Bangladesh, before which he had opted out of India's three-T20I and three-ODI series against the West Indies to do a stint with his Indian Army's Parachute Regiment.
