The Baba Indrajith-led Tamil Nadu takes on Bengal at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.

Key highlights from day one action of the fourth round matches of the Ranji Trophy 2018-19.

  • The day one of the fourth round saw bowlers dominating, with teams being skittled out after the first session. This indicates of more matches having outright results at the end. Thanks for tuning in for the updates, see you tomorrow, which promises to be a cracking one.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Mumbai: Shivam Dube's knock of 110 comes to an end, with the left-handed batsman finally holing out to long-off off a Piyush Chawla googly. • Amit Verma of Goa reaches his century off 174 balls. Goa 191/2 vs Jharkhand.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Mumbai: Shivam Dube ensures Gujarat will rue the dropped catch, not just tonight but perhaps for the rest of the season. The left-hander continues his clean-hitting and crosses his second hundred – not to mention two five-wicket hauls – in only his fourth first-class outing. Dube 100 off 118 balls (8x4, 5x6), Mumbai 241 for 7.

  • Arpit Vasavada brings up his hundred off 182 balls as Saurashtra reaches 213/5 against Baroda.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Mysore: Dream start to the second session for Karnataka. Left arm spinner J. Suchith castles Ruturaj Gaikwad in the second ball after lunch, and takes out Dhumal the very next ball. A few minutes later, Sanklecha plays down the wrong line to Suchith and loses his stumps. Gaikwad's wicket, an inside edge onto the stumps, was crucial as he looked solid in his 97-ball stay. The quick wickets allow Karnataka to smash the door in.

  • A. Vinod updates from Trivandrum: Basil Thampi takes a swipe at Kumar Karthikeya Singh and is bowled for 4. Kerala 60/8 in 32.5 overs. At lunch on the first day, Kerala 62/8 against Madhya Pradesh.

But Yadav attempts a half-hearted glide off a short ball to top-edge it to the deep fine-leg and give Arzan Nagwaswalla a wicket. Mumbai 74 for three and Armaan Jaffer joins Siddhesh Lad in the middle. Mumbai's misery continues as Armaan Jaffer, fresh from a triple hundred in the CK Nayudu Trophy on a flat bed, tries to play across the line and the green pitch does the rest as he offers gully a straight catch. Mumbai 74 for 4 in 24.1 overs.

  • V. V. Subrahmanyam updates from Hyderabad: Himachal captain Prashant Chopra gets to his half-century as the team is off to a confident start versus Hyderabad. Himachal 74/0.

Pacer Mehul Patel, a certainty in the starting line-up, fell off the famous Wankhede staircase from the dressing room to the ground minutes before toss. He suffered a minor head injury. Not only was he replaced with Chintan Gaja in the XI but since he felt dizzy, Patel was rushed to the hospital. Nitin Dalal, the former Mumbai manager who is the liaison officer for Gujarat, informed that Patel's scans are clear and he should rejoin his team-mates well in time before lunch. Mumbai, meanwhile, have moved to 40/2.
