Good morning! Welcome to the highlights from the third day's play of the seventh round of Ranji Trophy 2018-19 fixtures.

"Here is wishing Rajat Paliwal and N. Jagadeesan a very Happy Birthday!"

=====================================================================

Hyderabad vs Punjab: Hyderabad reaches stumps on Day 3 152 for two having taken a first-innings lead with captain Akshath Reddy on 67 and B. Sandeep on 25.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Shubham Ranjane and Aditya Tare play risk-free cricket till stumps. Mumbai ends the day 175 for five, with a lead of 221.

Andhra vs Bengal: Andhra goes to stumps 321 for nine, going past the Bengal's 300.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Our correspondent from Wankhede Stadium: Dharmendrasinh Jadeja is brought back into the attack, but Iyer is in no mood to relent. Three successive sixes, all over long-on mean Jadeja changes the angle and bowls the last ball of the over from round the wicket outside off. Iyer reaches out for it but doesn't connect it well to be caught at long-on. Iyer's rapid-fire 83 (60b, 5x4, 7x6) has given Mumbai a good chance of setting Saurashtra an enticing target. Mumbai 161 for five, with a lead of 207.

Himachal vs Tamil Nadu: Our correspondent from HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala, says: An inside edge past the wicketkeeper takes Abhinav Mukund to his century. Not quite the ideal way to bring up a landmark  given he has been rock-solid in the middle. His boundaries have been a treat to the eye. It has been a rescue act! Tamil Nadu 153 for two, trails Himachal by 83 runs.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Our correspondent from Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, says: With left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja suffering from the Iyer-Dube onslaught, conceding 41 runs off five overs, Jaydev Unadkat brings himself in for a second burst. And he gets Dube to mistime one to mid-off. Mumbai is 118 for four but it can't afford to pull the shutter down.

Hyderabad vs Punjab: Our correspondent from Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, says: Hyderabad is 124 for two at drinks in the final session on Day 3. Akshath Reddy is batting on 47, with B. Sandeep on 14. Appears that they will accelerate only on the final morning to set any kind of target for Punjab.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Our correspondent from Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, says: Siddhesh Lad has perished, but Mumbai remains in the hunt for an outright win. Shivam Dube has been promoted and he, along with Shreyas Iyer, are tonking the ball at will. Hardik Rathod suffers from the onslaught, with Dube first sending him into the stands over long-on and Iyer following it up with two drives. Mumbai 92 for three, lead nearing 140.

Karnataka vs Railways: Railways loses its first wicket with 5 on the board. Prashant Gupta falls for 4.

Himachal vs Tamil Nadu: Our correspondent from HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala, says: An appeal for stumping. It goes to the third umpire and is given not out. Left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar pitches full and brings Indrajith forward. The batsman seemingly drags his foot out while attempting a drive and misses the ball. It's 119 for two after 37 overs, Tamil Nadu trails by 117 runs.

Himachal vs Tamil Nadu: B. Aparajith is caught in the slips off seamer Raghav Dhawan for 24. But Abhinav Mukund continues to bat serenely at the other end, unleashing some exquisite strokes. Tamil Nadu is 118 for two, trails Himachal by 118 runs.

Karnataka vs Railways: Karnataka has declared half an hour into the post-tea session, at 290 for two in 84 overs, leaving Railways 362 to get for a victory.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Our correspondent updates: Jaydev Unadkat draws Jay Bista forward for an edge to second slip. Mumbai 28 for 2. With a lead of 74, captain Siddhesh Lad joins Shreyas Iyer in the middle.

Hyderabad vs Punjab: Our correspondent updates: Mayank Markande lures Tanmay Agarwal (53) out with his fifth ball after the tea break to be stumped 87 for two.

Karnataka vs Railways: Nischal out first ball after tea, caught in the covers. Manish Pandey in.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Our correspondent updates: Mumbai has no choice but to go for quick runs. Vikrant Auti's ambitious hook off Chetan Sakariya results in a top-edge to square-leg. 19 for one.

Himachal Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu: Our correspondent updates:  It's tea, at the HPCA Stadium here. It's 85 for 1 after 29 overs, Aparajith scoring a rare boundary in the last over before the break. Tamil Nadu trails by 151 runs, in the second innings.

Karnataka vs Railways: Nischal competes his third first class hundred. Karnataka 244/1 at tea.

Hyderabad vs Punjab: Our correspondent updates: Hyderabad goes into tea break scoring 85 for one with opener Tanmay Agarwal (53) and captain Akshath Reddy (24) at the crease, showing no signs of going for quick runs and setting a target as of now after taking the vital first innings lead against Punjab.

Karnataka vs Railways: Our correspondent updates: Siddharth completes a 57-ball-50. Karnataka 239/1. Nischal on 96. Lead now 310. Ronit More had spoken of 350 as being an optimum target. Declaration imminent.

Himachal Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu: Our correspondent updates: Abhinav Mukund has struck some picturesque strokes around the ground. He reached his fifty with a gentle flick to midwicket for a single. His partner Aparajith,on the other hand, is keen to defend.

Andhra vs Bengal: Our correspondent updates: At tea: Andhra 268/6 in 100 overs. K.S. Bharat 61, Ricky Bhui 52. Andhra 32 runs away from Bengal's total. Bhui added 84 with Bharat, 34 with Sumanth and 28 with Girinath.

Mumbai vs Saurashtra: Our correspondent updates: Mumbai has finally heaved a sigh of relief. Chirag Jani steps out to be stumped off Tanush Kotian for 85. Saurashtra all out for 348. Mumbai leads by 46. Does it have enough time to go for an outright win? Or can Saurashtra do a Gujarat, beating Mumbai in Mumbai despite conceding the lead?
