India batter Virat Kohli, on Thursday, dedicated a heartwarming social media post to former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
“Our partnerships would always be special to me forever. 7+18,” wrote the 33-year old.
“Being this man’s trusted deputy was the most enjoyable and exciting period in my career.” he added.
Kohli took over the reins of Test captaincy from Dhoni in 2014 and went onto become one of India’s most successful captains in the format. Kohli remained Dhoni’s deputy in limited-overs cricket till 2017.
Dhoni was as a vital cog in Kohli’s limited-overs setup until his retirement after the 2019 ODI World Cup in England.
Kohli, who has endured a rough patch in international cricket over the past two seasons, will be aiming to regain his touch during India’s Asia Cup campaign in the United Arab Emirates, starting Sunday.
