Komal struck twice as the Indian U-16 football team scripted a resounding victory, defeating German lower division outfit, Sportfreunde Siegen 5-0 at Duisburg, Germany. Komal was aided by Aman Chetri, Narender and Rakip to take it away from the German boys.

Sportefreunde Siegen earned an early corner in the third minute but Amarjit saw it off to avert the danger. In the 14th minute, Komal received it from Rakip and did no mistake to tap it home, leaving the opponent goalie aghast.

At the stroke of the half-hour mark, Amarjit squared a long ball to Sanjeev, who unleashed a power-packed shot but the goalie punched it. On collecting the ball on the rebound, Aman Chetri doubled the lead from close range. The boys went to the dressing room at half-time with a comfortable lead of two goals, thanks to the goals by Komal and Aman.

Nicolai opted to tweak with his strategies in the second half as he introduced as many as five changes. Tamal, Joysana, Hendry, Narender and Saurabh were introduced on the course of the match to test their mettle.

It was a bad day in the office for the home side as its ace striker miscued the best opportunity to opening the goalmouth on 51 minutes when his penalty kick hovered over the crossbar. Komal completed his brace when he tapped the ball from an immaculate pass unleashed by Boris from 30-yards out.

The show was still left as Narender etched his name in the scoresheet within four minutes. Komal took a long corner and the super-sub blasted the roof of the net from a well-taken leap over the opponent defender.

More humiliation was left for the Sportfreunde Siegen boys as Rakip nailed the final one in the coffin two minutes from full time.
