A goal early on in the first half and another by super-sub Javier Siverio was too much for the Kerala Blasters, which tries to claw back ate with a Vincy Barretto stunner.

But HFC managed to hang in a secure the three points, which helped it enter the semifinals for the first time in its history .

55' Save! Chencho passes the ball to Vazquez at the edge of the box and the Spaniard dribbles the HFC defenders and goes for goal, but Kattimani makes another save

52' Off The post again! The corner kick that follows goes out for a corner at the other end. Even that is headed out by Juanan for another corner. This one taken by Luna is headed in by Khabra and the ball hits the bar -- the second time for KBFC in this match

51' Chance! Chencho is released along the left flank and Chencho runs with the ball, but fails to beat the keeper with his shot as Kattimani spreads himself to make a key save

48' No real chance in the second half, unlike the first half and if the sxcore remains like this till full time, Manolo Marquez and his team will make history tonight -- finishingh in the top four for the first time in its history

An early goal by Ogbeche keeps Manolo Marquez's side in the lead midway in this tight contest. A win here will guarantee HFC a place in the top four for the first time in the club's  history.

45+1' Yellow Card! Souvik gets into the book for a rash challenge on Ayush and the play that follows sees Chencho get the ball in the box. He chests the ball, but four HFC players, including Victor surround him to block the shot and the danger is warded off

43' Vazquez tries to make a solo run, but is  marked well by two HFC defenders - Sana and Juanan -- to ward off any danger and the ball is cleared away

41' Off the post!  An error from Kattimani in cataching gifts KBFC a corner kick. The kick that follows is first fisted away by Kattimani, but it then falls for Chencho, who goes for goal, but the ball hits the woodwork

39' Ayush plays in the ball in the HFC box for Sahal, but Akash Mishra makes a last minute defensive run to clear the ball away, injuring himself in the process. Eventually he is back on his feet

37' Vazquez goes on the attack, makes a run along the left flank and crosses for Chencho, but this time too, Juanan, solid as a rock is there to clear the ball away.

35' Chance! Hyderabad FC tries to go on attack again. This time Danu gets the ball in front of the box, but fails to launch a shot as the score remains HFC 1-0 KBFC

33' As the game resumes after the ater break, Kerala Blasters looks to get back into shape to contain the Nigerian goalscorer and try and go on the attack when gaps arise in the HFC play

27' Adrian Luna gets ready to take the free kick and the kick hits the wall. The pass that follows from Luna is too much for Sahal and the ball goes out for a goal kick

25' Yellow Card! Juanan brings down Chencho in a bid to get the ball and gets the first yellow card of the match. The booking means he will be suspended for the next match, HFC will be desperate to walk away with three points tonight

23' Kattimani's long goal kick is chased by Chianese in the final third, but Gill gets to it first and grabs it to ward off any. There is a reason Gill is in the Golden Glove leaderboard

21' Hyderabad FC has three men at the back at the moment and KBFC will look to exploit gaps -- something it has not been able to do successfully in this match so far

19' KBFC forces the HFC defence to go high up the line and Kattiumani tries to clear the ball, which falls for Vazquez, who tries to go for a goal, similar to that against NEUFC, but Souvik marks him well and blocks the shot to end this attack

17' Off-Side! Ogbeche is delivered an aerial ball into the box from the right, but the linesman raises his flag for an offside

16' Another through ball spotted by the HFC defence as the yellow wall keeps the KBFC build-up in check and goes for attack on the other end. Danu is marked well and he passes the ball to the back

14' KBFC tries to build an attack with a diagonal long ball from the left flank to the right, but Khabra, though receiving the ball well, fails to control it and the ball goes out for a throw in

12' Chianese makes a fine run in front of the box and dribbles through two defenders, but the referee stops play as Puitea is on the ground and Manolo Marquez is furious

11' KBFC goes on attack, with a pass across the midfield and then Luna gets the ball, which is floated into the box, but Gyeltsen and Juanan go for the ball at the same time and then Juanan clears the ball away

8' The corner that follows is defended well by Chencho Gyeltsen and KBFC get a goal kick from the corner kick

7' Souvik gets the ball in the midfield and tries to go for goal from distance. The shot, however, has no force and after a deflection off Leskovic goes out for a corner

6' Danu makes a run along the left flank for Hyderabad FC, cutc in right, but his cross is delivered late and it goes out for a goal corner. The kick that follows is cleared away by the KBFC defence

4' Foul! Ayush Adhikari tries to go for the ball, but brings down Joel Chianese and HFC gets a free kick. Asish Rai takes the free kick, but though Victor gets a touch, it is not enough to deflect the ball on target

3' Long balls upfront for Hyderabad FC is cleared by Harmanjot Khabra, but the men in yellow have looked the more dangerous lot early on in the match so far.

1' Attack from the very beginning, Chianese gets the ball in front of the box from Nishu and goes for goal, but Gill saves comfortably.

Kerala Blasters was just seconds away from three points in its last match but it ended in a 2-2 draw, with Joni Kauko netting that equaliser for ATK Mohun Bagan.

That means the men from Kochi remain fourth as the battles for the semifinal slots intensify. After that close encounter, they are up against another strong rival on Tuesday at Bamoblim’s GMC Athletic Stadium, where they come face to face with table-topper Hyderabad FC, which has 32 points but has played a game more than Jamshedpur FC (31) and ATK Mohun Bagan (30).

Blasters is on 27 points. In this business end of the tournament, Ivan Vukomanovic’s boys will be looking to score every point that they could.

And they would once again be banking on the remarkable skills of their Uruguayan midfielder Adrian Luna, who has probably been the player of the ISL thus far this season. He had scored both the goals against ATK Mohun Bagan, and both were beauties.

If there is one player that has come close to him when it comes to influencing a team’s performance, it is Hyderabad’s Bartholomew Ogbeche, the leading scorer in ISL’s history and this season.

Coach Manolo Marquez must be hoping that the Nigerian could add on to his tally of 16 goals (from 16 games). “The season has been fantastic for Hyderabad FC,” he said. “(But) Kerala’s offensive players are brilliant.”

The Blasters coach acknowledged that Hyderabad was the best team in the competition. “I expect a tough game,” he said. “We’ll try to test something different.”
