Kerala Blasters FC has signed former Nigerian international striker Bartholomew Ogbeche for the sixth edition of the Indian Super League.

The 34-year-old Nigeria-born Frenchman, who was in action in the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan, began his career at Paris Saint-Germain and later played for Spanish clubs like Valladolid and Alaves and also for English club Middlesbrough.

Ogbeche, who was joint second highest goal-scorer in the ISL last season with 12 goals, played a major role in NorthEast United progressing to the semifinal. Eelco Schattorie, the new Blasters’ head coach who was with NorthEast last year, appears to have lured the Nigerian to Kochi.
