“The players here are 100 per cent committed to success in the forthcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season starting from October 20. We are keen to produce the kind of football that will fill the stadium and provide entertainment, we have to win games, hopefully, we have a successful season,” says Phil Brown, head coach of Hyderabad Football Club which will be making its debut in ISL.

“If we tick the right columns, I think we will be successful,” Brown said at the launch of the team’s black and yellow jersey by film star Daggubati Venkatesh here on Sunday.

“I don’t think they (players) haven’t got the energy to speak given the amount of training they have been putting up,” he said on players’ interaction with media.

“We have to congratulate the backroom staff for a fantastic job. I cannot recall being involved in a team like this before. I was a little bit scary initially, a little bit unknown at the start.

"Now, we are settled a 25-man squad led by Kamaljit Singh and it is good to see an Indian player leading the team next season,” he explained.  ”It is great that the team has five to six players who are experienced,” he added.

Cramped schedule

“Hyderabad is in a position to take off. Come October 25, we will step up. We will be ready as we got four very important games in 11 days. It is crazy when you think about it. That’s India. But, I am happy with it. We will be doing everything we can in those four games to stamp our authority on ISL,” Phil Brown explained.

“The colour and the design of the logo is designed that it echoes the illustrious soccer culture of the City and also reverberate the heritage and pride of the City,” feel Mr.Varun Tripuraneni and Mr. Vijay Madduri, co-owners of the team after the formal introduction of the team members.

“The colour of the jersey sports a contemporary look and is inspired by the traditional Nizami Sherwani and city’s architecture. The bold colours make it classy and represent the upbeat mood of Hyderabadis and their bright culture,” they said.

Former India captain and now HCA president Mohd Azharuddin was also present.
