Jaipur Pink Panthers began its Pro Kabaddi League season seven (PKL 2019) campaign in style with an emphatic 42-23 win over U Mumba at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium here on Monday.

Captain and star raider Deepak Niwas Hooda led from the front as he scored a Super 10 to finish with 11 points out of 15 raids attempted and Amit Hooda, who notched up a High-5 in defence, were the star performers for Jaipur Pink Panthers and owner and film star Abhishek Bachchan's delight, who was cheering from the stands, was understandable.

It was the not the kind of performance expected from U Mumba, which outplayed Telugu Titans in the season opener here. The first-half was dominated by Jaipur Pink Panthers with raider Nitin Rawal scoring five points from his seven raids. It was a phase which saw the U Mumba defence and raiding go awry, and also resulted in U Mumba being All-Out twice.

Though Dong Geon Lee did try to restore parity with a couple of raid points, U Mumba found it tough against a Jaipur Pink Panthers defence that was watertight and it was of little surprise that the side led 22-9 at the break.

In the second session, the story was no different with Jaipur outfit clearly being the superior outfit in all departments of the game. With defenders Amit and Surinder Singh putting up an impressive show, raiders Deepak Hooda, Ajinkya Pawar and Deepak Narwal had the liberty to attack the rivals.

For U Mumba, raider Abhishek Singh was the lone bright spot with seven points from 13 raids.
