India to host Asian weightlifting in 2019

More than 300 lifters, from across the continent, are expected to take part in the event, which will serve as a qualifying event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The 2019 edition of the Asian Weightlifting Championship has been allotted to India.

More than 300 lifters, from across the continent, are expected to take part in the event, which will serve as a qualifying event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWLF) said, in a release, on Tuesday.

The venue and dates will be announced later.
