Two gold medals for India at Commonwealth Ch’ship

Guru Raja (56kg) and Joti Mal (53kg) opened the medal account for India, striking gold in their respective events at the Commonwealth Senior (Men and Women) Weightlifting Championships being held at Penang, Malaysia.

Raja lifted 249kg (108kg+141kg) in the men’s event, while Joti Mal 175kg (73kg+102kg) in the women’s category.

Gopal Anbarasu (62kg) lifted 259kg (115kg+144kg) fetched a bronze medal.
