It was a masterclass from Chennai Quick Guns as it beat Rajasthan Warriors 57-36 in match 21 of Ultimate Kho Kho on Saturday.
The Chennai outfit got off to a perfect start as it dismissed the first defending batch of Rajasthan Warriors within two minutes. This gave a 7-0 advantage to Quick Guns.
Narasayya’s skydive -- winning three points -- was the highlight as Chennai made little work of the next batch sent out by Warriors. The end of Turn 1 saw Rajasthan without any points and trailing its opponent by 22 points.
Things continued to spiral downwards for Narender Kumar’s team. Despite the best efforts of league’s best attacker Majahar Jamadar, Chennai managed to sneak in multiple dream runs.
This ensured the momentum remained in its favour. The score at the end of the first innings was 15-33.
Chennai’s domination continued in the second innings. Rajasthan started with its strongest defensive batch. featuring both Jamadar and Taseen. but Chennai’s Wazir Jeevesh Rao came in with a crucial skydive to quash any hopes of a Rajasthan comeback.
Resuming the last turn with an advantage of 53-19, Chennai was able to see off the contest despite a late powerplay card by Rajasthan.
The win helped Chennai Quick Guns leapfrog Mumbai Khiladis into the fourth position with 12 points. The Khiladis, however, have a game in hand which they will play later in the day.
Rajasthan Warriors, on the other hand, remains winless after seven games with massive point difference of 127.
