Anish clinched the rapid fire pistol bronze in the 27th Meeting of Shooting Hopes international competition in Plzen on Friday.

Anish clinched the rapid fire pistol bronze in the 27th Meeting of Shooting Hopes international competition in Plzen on Friday.

After shooting 283 at the halfway stage, Anish came up with a better fare and shot 287 in the second stage to make the final. Anish did well to pull past Matej Rampula of the Czech Republic, the qualification topper who had shot 577, by winning the shoot-off after the two were tied on 16 for the fourth spot.

Aadeithyaa Joahal shot 568 for the eighth place as he missed the final by two points.

In junior women’s air rifle, Mehuli Ghosh made the final with a score 415.2, but finished seventh. In the junior men’s rifle 3-position event, the Indian shooters were below par. Harshit Binjwa (1151), Nishant Dalal (1138), Subhankar Pramanick (1110) and Syed Arab Parvej (1102) were placed 22nd, 44th, 69th and 75th respectively, in a field of 79.
