Second seed Saurav Ghosal had beaten qualifier Elvinn Keo of Malaysia in straight games 11-7, 11-5, 11-7 to set up a match against his countryman.

National champion Saurav Ghosal lived upto his second seed rating in beating his countrymate and qualifier Harinder Pal Sandhu for a place in the semifinal of the Macau Open, a PSA world tour event here on Friday. Saurav won 11-9, 11-6, 3-11, 11-8.

It was not an easy outing at all for Saurav, as Harinder, known for his fighting abilities, displayed those qualities to the fore. The 64-minute affair saw the national champion getting tested. But except for the thrid game which saw Harinder at his best, the senior Pro had his way in the end to reach the last four where he will now face the fourth seed Daryl Selby of England.
