India's Sathiyan Gnanasekaran was the lone Indian to enter the men's singles pre-quarterfinals in the Asian table tennis championships here on Friday. The Indian, ranked 30 in the world, defeated Noshad Alamiyan of Iran 8-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-5 and will clash with North Korea's An Ji Song at 6.50 p.m. IST today.
Ayhika Mukherjee remained the lone Indian survivor in the women's singles round of 32 of the Asian table tennis championships here on Friday. Ayhika defeated Batbayar Doljinzuu of Mongolia 11-6, 11-7, 11-3 and will now face World No. 2 Ding Ning of China in the pre-quarterfinals at 5.30 p.m. IST on Friday.
