Hello and welcome to Sportstar's LIVE blog of Day 6 (Friday) of the 2019 French Open.
- VAMOS RAFA! The defending champ beats Goffin 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 to advance into the fourth round of the French Open.
- After dropping the third set against David Goffin, Rafael Nadal has made a terrific comeback to lead 4-1 in the fourth set. Can he seal it the win, or will Goffin stretch the tie to a deciding fifth set?
- Donna Vekic has won the first set 6-4 against Belinda Bencic.
- Kei Nishikori is through after a gruelling five-setter against Laslo Djere. He wins it 6-4, 7-6, 6-3, 4-6, 8-6.
- FEDERER WINS! He wins the tiebreaker 10-8 and is into the fourth round of the French Open for the 14th time in his career - a record.
He will face the winner of the match between Nicolas Mahut and Leonardo Mayer.
- Kaia Kanepi is through to the fourth round after a 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 win over Veronika Kudermetova.
- Federer vs Ruud: We have a tiebreaker in the third set. The 20-time Grand Slam champion has not had it easy this set.
- Federer won the first two sets 6-1, 6-3 and is leading 4-3 in the third set against Casper Ruud.

- Roland Garros' favourite son, Rafael Nadal, walks on to court for his match against David Goffin. A 11-time French Open champion against the 2016 quarterfinalist.
- Federer became the first to reach 400 grand slam matches. See who's hot on his heels .
- Garbine Muguruza is into the fourth round, beating Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-3.
- Roger Federer has it pretty easy in the first set against Ruud. He wins it 6-3.
- Garbine Muguruza takes the first set 6-3 against Elina Svitolina.
- Leander Paes and Benoit Paire's doubles match is later tonight. Paire is through to the fourth round after Pablo Carrena Buesta retired from their match.
- Rohan Bopanna and Marius Copil are through to the men's doubles round of 16 with a 6-4, 6-4 win against Benjamin Bonzi and Antoine Hoang.
- Your wait is over Federer fans. It's time for Roger. His match against Casper Ruud is underway at court Suzanne-Lenglen.
The Norwegian's father, Christian, actually played in the 1999 French Open when a 17-year-old Federer made his main-draw debut.
“They practised together,” said Casper ahead of his big day. “So I think I remember I thought it was cool, but I was young when he told me. I didn't realise how big of a player and champion Roger was at the time.”
Federer has gone on to win a record 20 Grand Slam titles since, although his sole French Open success came 10 years ago.
- SEVASTOVA WINS! The Latvian comes out victorious in a three hour 18 minute marathon against Elise Mertens. She wins the match 6-7, 6-4, 11-9.
- Lucas Pouille crashes out of his home Grand Slam after a four-hour match against Martin Klizan . Klizan wins 7-6, 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 9-7 to advance to the fourth round.
- Meanwhile, another match that's going the distance is Lucas Pouille's second round clash against Martin Klizan. It's 7-7 in the final set and you've got to watch this brilliant play from Pouille below.
- Mertens and Sevastova are still going strong. It's 8-8 in the final set. Federer fans are turning impatient. He's supposed to play next on the Suzanne-Lenglen court.
- And Marketa Vondrousova marches on! The 19-year-old defeats Carla Suarez-Navarro 6-4, 6-4 and is into the fourth round of the French Open.

- She's done it! Petra Martic has knocked out Karolina Pliskova with a 6-3, 6-3 win. What a match from the Croat!
She's been rising steadily in the past year, winning the Istanbul Open in April this year and a WTA 125k series in Chicago in September last year.
- Martic breaks again to go 5-3 up. She will serve for the match now. Is this the end of Pliskova's French Open campaign?
- Vondrousova makes a determined comeback in the first set to win it 6-4.
- Martic has broken Pliskova in the second set and she leads 2-0.
- Mertens and Sevastova are fighting it out in a tiebreaker. Mertens takes the first set.
- Vondrousova has fought bakc well from 4-2 down to level the set 4-4 against Carla Suarez Navarro.
- Martic breaks twice after 3-3 to take the first set 6-3 against Pliskova. Do we have an upset on the cards here?
Meanwhile, here's review of yesterday's action in the French Open
- Elise Mertens, on Suzanne-Lenglen court, is 5-3 up against Sevastova in the first set.
- On Court Philippe-Chartier, Pliskova and Martic have had an even start, No breaks yet. 3-3 in the first set.
Who'd rather be in France right now?
Marketa Vondrousova takes on Carla Suarez Navarro, second seed Karolina Pliskova faces Petra Martic and Elise Mertens comes up against Anastasija Sevastova in the first set of matches to begin the day.
Before Roger's match scheduled to begin at 3:45pm (IST), there are important women's singles match-ups to keep an eye on.
